
A New Jersey car accident results in one person sustaining serious injuries. According to police, the multi-car accident happened on the New Jersey Turnpike and caused the northbound lanes to be shut down. The incident took place at approximately 6:45 AM on Wednesday morning, September 30, 2009.
The car crash involved several vehicles resulting in one person being severely injured. No other information about the injured person was made available.
The New Jersey Turnpike was backed up due to the multi-car crash, according to reports. According to police, the accident caused a slow down on the turnpike for at least 19 miles. The northbound lanes approaching exit 13 were closed for approximately three hours on Wednesday morning.
Drivers were inconvenienced and were required to use alternative routes. Some of these routes included the Garden State Parkway and several back roads. According to the New Jersey Transit Authorities, they had never seen an accident like this one before on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Authorities have not released the identities of any of the drivers involved in the New Jersey multi-vehicle crash.
Information as to the cause of the accident has not been available as of yet. The accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
