
A Hillsborough car accident involving a school bus leaves three people injured after a car collides with the bus head-on. The incident took place at approximately 3:00 PM on Friday, March 19, 2010.
According to Hillsborough School District spokesperson Jan Frasher, the school bus was transporting 28 students from Hillsborough High School at the time of the accident. Reports indicate that a car collided with the school bus head-on.
Rescue crews transported the unidentified driver of the car and one passenger by helicopter to a nearby hospital where they were treated for injures sustained in the accident. According to a witness, the passenger was a young girl. The driver has been reported as being seriously injured, however, the extent of their injuries was not made known.
Frasher reported that a student on board the bus suffered minor injuries. The student was taken to Somerset Medical Center and treated for those injuries.
The Hillsborough accident is still under investigation by local authorities. The cause of the accident was not made known. No other students were reported as being injured as a result of the wreck.
