According to a report from CNN Health, a doctor claims that his diet can guarantee against heart attacks. Complications from heart attacks can lead to permanent disability and the need for Social Security disability benefits.
Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn Jr. had been doing research on cancer when he noticed an interesting pattern in heart attacks. While heart disease is the # 1 killer for those who live in the United States, other cultures don't have this problem.
His research led him to study the diets of those in the following cultures:
He believes that heart attacks can not be treated with drugs, heart bypass surgery or stents. Rather he believes a change in diet, following one like the aforementioned cultures, can prevent heart attacks. In fact Dr. Esselstyn calls heart disease a "food-borne illness."
He has written a book in hopes of promoting this new diet which allows for no meat, dairy, eggs, or added oils.
When you have suffered a heart attack and it has led to permanent disability, then you should consult with a New York Social Security disability attorney to determine if you are eligible to receive disability benefits.
