A T-Bone accident is an accident that occurs when a vehicle crashes into the side of another vehicle. This type of crash is also known as a side impact crash.

Side impact or T-Bone accidents can be very dangerous because when the vehicle is hit from the side it causes an affect that is very different from a rear end crash or a head on collision. A side impact accident causes the vehicle to be hit on a point that has very minimal protection. When a car is hit from the front or the back you have somewhat of a buffer and while being rear ended or in a head on collision is also very dangerous t-bone accidents sometimes put the driver and passengers at a higher risk of severe injury because the only thing blocking them and the other vehicle is the door and in some cases a side air bag.

In most cases T-bone accidents occur because of the negligence of a driver who is running a stop sign or a red light. When a street signal or sign is disregarded and a vehicle continues to make its way through an intersection the driver's negligence puts the rest of the vehicles on the road who have the right of way or the green light at risk.

The injuries that are most commonly caused by T-bone accidents spinal cord injuries, head injuries, broken or fractured bones, severe lacerations and in some cases death.

The consequences of a t-bone accident can be devistating and can completely change the victim's life and their family's life in a matter of seconds.
