    Yasmin / Ocella / Yaz Side Effects: The drospinenone hormone in Yaz and Yazmin may cause elevated potassium levels which lead to heart problems, arrhythmia, kidney failure, blood clots in the legs (Deep Vein Thrombosis or DVT), blood clots in the lungs (Pulmonary embolism), stroke, gall bladder disease and pancreatitis and can ultimately result in permanent loss of movement, difficulty communicating, permanent loss of brain functions and many other temporary and permanent disabilities and sometimes may even lead to death.
    Yasmin / Ocella / Yaz Warning Signs: Fatigue, muscle weakness, tingling sensations, difficulty moving limbs due to mild paralysis, vomiting, confusion, pain behind the eyes, problems with vision, speech or balance, chest pain or a heavy feeling in your chest, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, a change in the pattern or severity of migraine headaches, stomach pain, loss of appetite, jaundice (yellowing of the eyes), breast lumps or symptoms of depression.

  • ORTHO EVRA
    Ortho Evra Description: A patch that is placed on certain parts of a woman’s body which contains norelgestromin and ethinyl estradiol hormones. Familiar names for this form of birth control are known as “the patch” and a transdermal patch. The patch is replaced once a week. This form of birth control is said to have approximately 60% higher dose of estrogen than what is in most oral birth control pills.
    Ortho Evra Side effects: Due to the higher dose of estrogen in the patch there are heightened risks for heart attack when compared with regular oral birth control pills. Other dangerous side effects of Ortho Evra include blood clots in the legs (Deep Vein Thrombosis or DVT) and risk of a blood clot in the lungs (Pulmonary Embolism).
    Ortho Evra Warning Signs: Crushing chest pain, tightness in the chest, heavy feeling in the chest, sharp chest pain, coughing blood, sudden shortness of breath, Sudden or severe headaches, vomiting, dizziness, fainting, speech difficulty, vision difficulty, weakness or numbness in the arm or leg, pain behind eye and sudden partial or complete loss of vision.
  • NUVA RING
    NuvaRing Description: A hormonal contraceptive that contains Etonogestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol which is a two-inch ring which is soft and flexible and is inserted into the woman’s vagina for three weeks and then is removed for one week.
    NuvaRing Side Effects: Blood clot (thrombosis), stroke, heart attack (myocardial infarction), gallbladder disease, elevated blood pressure, blood clot in the lung (pulmonary embolism), cerebral hemorrhage, ocular lesions and hepatic adenomas (benign liver tumors).
    NuvaRing Warnings Signs: Chest pain, difficulty breathing, coughing blood, severe headaches, weakness, numbness, pain in the arms and legs, vision loss, seeing flashing lights, severe abdominal pain, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), breast lumps, drastic change in mood, depression, severe fatigue, and sleeplessness.
