A: If a seller is using the proceeds of his sale to buy another house he will need to remain in his old house for a few days after closing. Since he must sell before he can buy a seller will ask for the right to remain in possession after the closing. This is a right which needs to be added to a contract as the normal contract clause calls for the house to be delivered vacant at closing.
