Firm Settles Case for Pedestrian Hit By Car

An elderly woman was hit by a car while crossing Hylan Boulevard against a traffic light. She sustained serious injuries, including numerous fractures and closed-head injuries. After being placed in a nursing home, she passed away from complicatiosn resulting from the injuries she sustained in the accident. Prior to trial, the parties agreed to enter into non-binding mediation. The insurance company for the driver of the car that hit the client denied liability as a witness provided a statement that the woman was walking against the traffic light and outsid ethe crosswalk. At the mediation, the case settled for $465,000.00.
