The problems are not over for Toyota. The auto manufacturer, which is paying $16.4 million in fines for violations, is now facing another setback as it is forced to recall all 2010 Lexus GX 460 SUVs.
The announcement stems from a recent article published in
Consumer Reports (CR) that warns drivers of the vehicle’s risk of rolling over while turning. CR found that when the SUV was pushed to its limits, the rear of the vehicle was almost sideways before the electronic control system regained control of the vehicle, increasing the chance of the GX 460 rolling over.
Apparently, Toyota was able to identify the software problem and owners will be able to start taking in the vehicles for the necessary repairs at the end of April. According to Toyota, approximately 13,000 GX 460s will be repaired in the U.S. and other countries such as Russia, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
Perhaps you own a 2010 Lexus GX 460 or are considering purchasing one. It is imperative that you make sure that your vehicle or the vehicle that you are considering buying has had the necessary software repairs made. It could keep you from being in a serious
New York Lexus accident.
