What does the Social Security Administration define as totally disabled?

The Social Security Administration (SSA) defines totally disabled as a physical impairment or a mental impairment which is ongoing and not likely, under any circumstance, to improve within the next 12 months.

Social Security disability is able to be received while you are still working also but only under certain circumstances. You currently must make less than $940 a month for non-blind individuals.
