A
West Brighton car accident involving two vehicles leaves several with injuries after one of the vehicles catches fire. The incident took place on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, on Broadway and Glenwood Place near a YMCA building.
According to emergency officials, one of the vehicles was a sport utility vehicle (SUV). The SUV reportedly caught fire as a result of the impact. It was unclear how the accident occurred or who was at fault.
The force of the impact left one victim pinned inside one of the vehicles. Reports indicate that all of the occupants of the SUV were able to exit the vehicle on their own accord. There were no details concerning how many people were involved in the crash or the extent of their injuries, however, medical officials indicated that none of the victims were left with life-threatening injuries. The victims were treated at the accident scene.
The accident forced emergency crews to close Broadway between Forest Avenue and Clove Road. It was reopened approximately a half hour later.
The West Brighton auto accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
