Maclaren announced today that they were voluntarily recalling over 1 million umbrella strollers due to hazards to children's hands and fingers.
The Maclaren umbrella stollers that are being recalled include the following: tVolo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Travellerhat were presented to the United States since 1999. Since 1999 when the Maclaren strollers were introduced to America there have been 15 known incidents that were reported to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission where children experienced injuries to their hands and fingers from the recalled product.
Maclaren has asked that consumers who have this product stop us immediately and contact the company on the
web or by phone at 877.688.2326. Consumers with the defective childrens product will be sent a repair kit to fix the problem with the faulty hinge on the stroller which can potentially cause injuries to your child's fingers or hand and may even possibly cause fingers to be amputated if the side hinge injures the child severly enough.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission always asks that if you are injured by a product that you report it to them. Filling out a
report with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission will help keep track of how many were injured by the dangerous product and will also provide consumers with the proper recall information and hopefull help other children avoid the same injury. If your child sustained serious injuries to their fingers or hands including amputations due to the defective product contact a
product liability lawyer. Often times
children are the greatest victims of defective products becuase they get injured much easier than an adult would and often times sustain worse injuries than an adult would also. If you would like more information on what to do if your child was injured by a defective product contact us at 800.976.4904 or by completing our
web form.
