Toyota is
expected to recall their prize hybrid model the 2010 Toyota Prius soon, possibly Tuesday, due to an issue with the brake system. There have been over 180 complaints filed for problems with the Prius of which include 4 car accidents and 2 minor injuries.
Late last week Toyota was
unsure if they were going to recall the 2010 Toyota Prius models regardless of the fact that there were so many reports of there being issues with them.
The reported problems with the 2010 Prius brake system is that when the drivers go over a bumpy road or try to stop at a stop sign their car accelerates instead of stopping. Although, for this type of car the acceleration is said to last for a few seconds, it could still most definitely result in a car accident, injury to yourself or injury to another person. If this occurs you should speak with a personal injury lawyer regarding your lawsuit against Toyota for the injuries caused by the defective car.
Rumor has it that if there is a recall it will consist of approximately 270,000 to 300,000 2010 Toyota Prius vehicles throughout the United States and Japan. The vehicles that the recall would include would be limited to those that were sent to the dealership May 2009 and later.
