The Social Security Administration (SSA) announced in February that they are adding 38 additional conditions to their compassionate allowance list.
Compassionate allowances are qualifying disabilities that are considered severe. The SSA approves people who have disabilities that are listed on the compassionate allowance quicker than they would if they're qualifying condition was not listed on the compassionate allowance list. The SSA allowing 38 additional conditions to be listed on the compassionate allowance list allows people with those severe disabilities to be able to start receiving their benefits quicker than normal.
The additional disabilities that the Social Security Administration has added to the compassionate allowances list are as follows:

Amegakaryocytic Thrombocytopenia
Ataxia Spinocerebellar
Ataxia Telangiectasia
Batten Disease
Bilateral Retinoblastoma
Cri Du Chat Syndrome
Degos Disease
Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease
Edwards Syndrome
Fibrodysplacia Ossificans Progressiva
Fukuyama Congenital Muscular Dystrophy
Glutaric Acidemia Type II
Hemophagocytic Lymphohystiocytosis (HLH), familial type
Hurler Syndrome Type IH
Hunter Syndrome Type II
Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa, Lethal Type
Late Infantile Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinoses
Leigh's Disease
Maple Syrup Urine Disease
Merosin Deficient Congenital Muscular Dystrophy
Mixed Demensia
Mucosal Malignant Melanoma
Neonatal Adrenoleukodystrophy
