
Kidde Company has announced a voluntary recall of their Dual Sensor Smoke Alarm.
The recall comes after two consumers reported incidents of the smoke alarm malfunctioning. In both cases the investigations show that the smoke alarm malfuctioned after being exposed to
electrostatic discharge during installation.
The malfunctioning alarms pose potential danger and injury in the event that the smoke alarm does not sound during a fire.
The model number being recalled is the PI2000 Dual Sensor Smoke Alarm and it will have a printed date on it of 2008 Aug 01 throught 2009 May 04.
