Pedestrians Account for More than Half of All Traffic Fatalities in New York City

A recent study issued today by the Health Department and Department of Transportation showed that pedestrian deaths account for more than half of traffic related deaths in New York City. While traffic related fatalities are down compared to the national average and compared to what they have been previously crashes still are the highest cause for injury related death and hospitalization in New York City. 

The data used in the recent study shows the results of pedestrian injuries and accidents in New York City was from 2005 to 2009.
