In Indiana a
5 year old boy recently suffered an amusement injury. The child was riding in the teacup ride when he was injured. He suffered two fractures to his scull from the amusement park ride which was located inside the Lafayette Square Mall in Indianapolis at an amusment park called Xscape. The boy, Denzel Jennings, currently remains in a coma in a hospital in Indiana.
The parents of the injured child have filed a lawsuit against the amusement park for the child's injuries. The parents said their main reason for filing the lawsuit is to make sure that the same thing doesn't keep happening to other children.
According to the child's lawyer he said "The little boy is in a teacup ride and ends up with two fractures of his skull, so obviously there was some violent movement of the ride".
The ride which is called MiniTeacups has been cleared by an inspector inside of the company but currently remains closed. The parents of the child want to have a private investigator come in and examine the teacup ride also though. They want to have someone come in who has an experienced background in rides and ride safety. The teacup ride has currently passed all of its inspections and was issued a permit so the ride could be back up and running at anytime which is why the parents chose to take action so fast. They want this ride fixed or removed so that another child will not suffer an injury from the ride.
The state has now admitted that they did receive phone calls prior to the child's injuries from the ride claiming that the ride was a potential safety issue. The calls came from an Xscape employee who left messages on a hotline number a few weeks before the incident occured.
