NYPD Ticketing Bicyclists for Running Red Lights in Central Park

So far this year according to a recent article on SILive.com 230 bicyclists have received tickets from the NYPD for running red lights near Central Park. The NYPD says they are ticketing bicyclists who do not stop at red lights because they are considered a vehicle and need to obey the traffic law.

Bicyclists have mixed emotions on the subject while some believe it is a good safety measure to have to stop at red lights others feel it is a bother to have to stop at every red light along with the cars even if the road at the intersection is clear to go.
