New York Fox News reported last week that a New York State tow truck driver was texting on his one cell phone and talking on another cell phone all while he was driving his tow truck that had two cars on the lift.
The driver of the vehicle, Nicholas Sparks, rear-ended a car in front of him which had a woman and an 8 year old child in the car.
After hitting the car the tow truck driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed through a house and a backyard fence and ended up landing in a swimming pool.
Multiple charges which are being placed against the truck driver include reckless driving, talking while on a cell phone and tailgating.
The driver of the car that was rear ended by the tow truck was taken to the hospital to treat a head injury and the 8 year old child was treated for wrist injuries.
A recent study by
Virginia Tech Transportation Unit showed that texting while driving causes you to be 23 times more likely to get into a car accident.
