Police are reporting that on Monday night a New York man, 21 year old Andrew Loaiza, was hit by a car while on a cross-country bicycling trip in Fargo, ND.
Fargo police report that the driver of the car was arrested for fleeing the scene of the accident and for a possible DUI. Upon the driver fleeing the scene of the accident a witness who was nearby called the police and followed the vehicle until the police stopped the suspects damaged car and arrested him.
The police also noted that the bike did have the proper safety lights installed on it and the indications as to whether or not the car swirved into the man on the bike was intentional or accidental.
