Last week there was a massive recall of the dietary suppliment Hydroxycut due to cases involving reports of serious liver problems which range from jaundice and elevate liver enzymes to liver failure. According to the FDA there have been 23 reports so far of people injured and suffering from serious liver problems and there has been one death which occured in 2007 but wasn't reported to the FDA until March of this year.
The FDA has prompted a recall of 14 different Hydroxycut supplements and they have warned customers to stop using the product immediately.
The FDA currently has no effective regulatory authority over dietary suppliments like Hydroxycut before the go on the market. This poses a case for there being more rules put into place for dietary suppliments before they are put on the market to avoid future potential cases like that of Hydroxy cut.
If you have been injured using Hydroxycut or another defective product, please contact Staten Island personal injury attorney Frank J.
