Honda Recall Adds to Air Bag Recall that Cause Severe Injuries and Death

Honda has expanded a previous recall that was issued in September 2009 which was an extension of a recall that Honda issued a couple of years ago.  Honda announced the recall yesterday that they are expanding the recall by 437,000 vehicles. 

The Honda recall now includes almost 1 million vehicles including 2001 -2002 Accord sedans, Civic compacts, Odyssey mini-vans, CR-V small sport utility vehicle, and 2002 Acura TL sedans.  The recall was issued for the vehicles because of an air bag defect that causes the driver's side air bag to deploy with too much pressure which can cause severe injury and may even kill the driver when the air bag deploys. 

So far the recalled Honda's are linked to 12 incidents - 1 of which killed the driver of the Honda and 11 which caused injuries to the driver of the Honda's.  Honda has also added to their recall statement that there have been no injury or death incidents reported to them since July 2009.
