General Motors issued a recall a few days ago for 2009 and 2010 Cadillac CTS vehicles according to CNN.
The Cadillac CTS recall came about because the vehicles do not comply with federal safety requirements in terms of how well they protect smaller passengers who are not wearing seat belts. If a car accident was to take place and a passenger is not wearing a seat belt the risk of injury to their femur is higher than permitted by federal law according to GM.
The Cadillac recall applies to CTS all-wheel-drive cars and CTS-V performance sedans and includes 20,224 2009 and 2010 models. If you believe that your vehicle is part of the recall you should contact your local GM dealer. GM announced that they will be fixing the vehicles included in the recall free of charge. Please take caution to this recall if your car is included in the GM recall because smaller sized passengers in the front passenger seat involved in an accident without a seat belt have a high chance of a femur injury from the car accident.
