Faulty Hip Implants from Johnson & Johnson Recalled

Johnson & Johnson announced another recall but this time the recall is for hip implants made by Johnson & Johnson. In the past two years Johnson & Johnson has received over 400 complaints from people who had hip replacements and needed a second hip replacement because of faulty hip implants.

The two hip replacement products being recalled are as follows:

• ASR XL Acetabular System - a hip socket used in traditional hip replacement
• ASR Hip Resurfacing System - a partial hip replacement that requires placing a metal cap on the ball of the femur

The company said that they will consider paying for reasonable costs associated with any problems that the recalled hip replacement has caused such as a second hip replacement surgery.
