Death Toll Due to Sudden Acceleration Problems with Toyota Vehicles Released by NHTSA

According to an article in the Los Angeles Times the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released the death toll number due to Toyota sudden acceleration problems which was based on complaints that they have received so far from consumers.  Most complaints filed were filed by surviving family member and ranged from vehicles that were included on the recall list to cars that Toyota still has not admitted need to be recalled.

If you own a Toyota, Lexus or Pontiac that has been recalled for a sudden acceleration issue it is very important that you bring it to the dealership to have the potentially life threatening sudden acceleration problem fixed.  If you purchased the car in New York and still currently reside in New York arrangements have been made so that you do not have to worry about being without a vehicle while yours is being repaired.  You will either be given a rental vehicle or will be able to use taxi service at Toyota's expense.

One thing that Toyota, Lexus and Pontiac owners must keep in mind with all of the recently recalled vehicles is that consumers are complaining that Toyota still has not recalled all of the necessary vehicles.  Consumers have come to this conclusion because either themselves or a loved one have been injured, experienced damages to their vehicle or have died because of vehicles that have not been recalled by Toyota for sudden acceleration issues and brake issues.  If you are in doubt as to whether or not your vehicle has been recalled contact Toyota to find out but if you are experiencing issues with your vehicles and it has not been involved on the recall list you will want to contact the NHTSA to file a report against Toyota.  If you have already been involved in an accident and have been injured or a family member has been killed because of a Toyota related defect finding out your rights against the Toyota manufacturer will greatly benefit you.  Toyota is liable for the negligence which has caused injuries or death because of their defective vehicles.
