Dangerous Dietary Supplement and Anesthesia Products Recalled Due to Risk of Heart Problems

Last week a recall was announced that could potentially affect many patients, especially infants, due to particles of stainless steel which were found in the two products.

Hospiria Inc. has recalled 85 lots of the fat emulsion product Liposyn which is a dietary supplement used mainly for infants who have trouble getting fat into their diet.

Also among the products being recalled by this company is a certain type of anesthesia by the name of Propofol and is only recalling the injectable form of this drug.

So far there have been no reported injuries associated with this potentially dangerous drug recall but the company and the FDA are saying that if patients do suffer injuries from the stainless steel inside of the products it could cause severe reactions such as a heart attack due to the narrowing of the blood flow and could possibly even result in death.

If you suspect that a recent heart attack or heart problem that you suffered from was linked to the drug Propofol or to the dietary suppliment Liposyn or if a loved one died and you believe it was due to one of these recalled drugs contact an injury lawyer for legal advice and legal help.  You can contact Frank J. Dito Jr. Staten Island drug recall attorney at 718.979-4300 or call toll free at 800.976.9404 and someone will be able to assist you and answer your legal questions regarding your injury.  An attorney will be able to review your case with you and help you determine if your heart problem was due to the defective drugs and how much compensation you are entitled to from the liable pharmaceutical company.

The FDA is also asking that if there are any possible cases for the victims to call 800-FDA-1088 to report information on the defective product.
