A recall has been issued for C&T International drop side cribs, Golden Baby drop side cribs, and Sorelle drop side cribs due to risk of entrapment which could ultimately lead strangulation or suffocation of a baby and could lead to death. Staten Island New York child injury lawyer describes which product defects have caused this crib to be recalled.

Crib Recall Alert: Sorelle and C&T Recall 170,000 Cribs because of Risk of Death and Injury

If you are the parent of a baby who sleeps in a Sorelle, Golden Baby or C&T drop side crib you will want to take a look at this recall.

The CPSC has issued a recall for 170,000 cribs manufactured by Sorelle, Golden Baby and C&T drop side cribs because they have received 104 incident reports of the drop side of the crib detaching.  The gap that is created when the drop side area of the crib detaches from the rest of the crib can cause entrapment and ultimately can cause strangulation and lead to the baby dying if the parent or caregiver is unaware of the child's entrapment.

So far the CPSC has received 6 reports of babies being injured from the recalled drop side cribs. The injuries included abrasions to the head, face, torso and leg. There were reports of an additional 5 children being entrapped between the drop side crib and the mattress but these children suffered no injuries as they were freed by their parents / caregivers.

Owners of the C&T, Sorelle or Golden Baby cribs should contact the company at 877-791-9398 to ask for a free repair kit or for a coupon which can be used towards purchasing a different C&T or Sorelle crib (Golden Baby is now Sorelle).  These cribs were sold between January 2000 through March 2010 and were sold for anywhere between $300 to $600. Below is a list of the recalled drop side cribs including model numbers:
