Avoid Getting Injured on Black Friday This Year While Shopping | NY Black Friday Shopping Tips

This year many of you will wake up early on Friday for Black Friday shopping. While this can be a dangerous day to venture out for anyone it can be especially dangerous if you are going shopping in a highly populated city such as Staten Island or any other part of New York City.

There are two major areas that you may encounter danger at is on the road and at the store. Often times people are in a rush on Black Friday. That combined with the large volume of people can create a dangerous situation while going to the stores, shopping at the store and coming home from the store.

Here are some precautions to take to avoid being injured on Black Friday:
  • Be extra defensive on the roadways
  • Stay alert while driving (there will be a higher volume of traffic than normal)
  • Obey the rules put in place by the particular store you are in
  • Be careful of any displays that seem wobbly or stacked high this can quickly become a danger
  • Wait your turn some places only allow a certain amount of people to be in the store at a time - this is for your safety and the safety of others
  • Park in a well lit area
  • Do not flaunt the amount of cash you have and try to keep the cash concealed while shopping
  • Keep your vehicle locked while you are shopping
  • Hide boxes tactically in your car - this will prevent your car from being broken into

While taking precautions may help avoid injuries sometimes injuries may be unpreventable on your part and the negligence may be caused by someone else such as another shopper, driver or a store.
