A warning to Staten Island parents about massive recall for inflatable baby floats

The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) along with Aqua Leisure Industries has released a voluntary recall for over 4 million Inflatable Baby Floats which were sold between December 2002 through June 2009. 

The products were sold at Target, Wal-Mart, Toys "R" Us, Dollar General, K-Mart, Walgreens, Ace Hardware, Bed Bath & Beyond and many other stores for approximately $8 - $15. 

Among the child inflatable floats being recalled are the following items:

Baby & Me Combo     Deluxe Baby Boat      Deluxe Toddler Racer Cozy Crab Sunshade Float 

     
Ticklish Turtle Sunshade Float  Child Wave Rider Aquarium Baby Float Toddler Race Boat                        
  
             Sunshade Buggy's                      Baby Adjustable Sunshade Boat  Kiddie Cabin Cruiser

Sing-Along Wave Rider       Quacker Float                   Squirtin' Tootin' Tugboat Float

The recall has been issued for these floats because there have been over 31 reports of the leg straps in the seat of the inflatable floats tearing and becoming disconnected causing the child to fall into or under the water posing the risk of drowning. 

The only model numbers not included in this recall are those that start with the letters "NP".
